Lecture Publicity, Oct., 2017
The October lecture in the monthly series sponsored by the Cornwall Iron Furnace will be appropriate for the Halloween holiday. Mary Weigley will address “Halloween Customs and Traditions as Portrayed on Antique Postcards” in her presentation on Tuesday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Freeman Hall auditorium on the campus of the Cornwall Manor Retirement Community.
Weigley, who currently works at Visit Lebanon Valley, has been collecting antique Halloween items for several years and will share her collection and knowledge on the subject. She is a published author, including an article on “Dressed Cat Postcards”. She previously worked in the ELCO School District and for the Richland Community Library.
The program is free to the public; you are welcome to contribute in a freewill offering. Because of renovation and construction on the campus, you may want to call the Cornwall Manor earlier in the day to check on available parking and entry to Freeman Hall. The auditorium itself is easily accessed for those with physical handicaps.
Please visit the Cornwall Iron Furnace website at www.cornwallironfurnace.org to learn about future programs and events. The next lecture will be held on November 14, with Dr. Patricia Gibble speaking on “Finding Esther”.
